Suboxone and Cleantime
May 25th, 2008 by T.R. "the ranter"Suboxone the newest "miracle" drug is a hot topic up for debate around the fellowship.
Is it o.k. to celebrate clean time while taking this medication, (if taken as prescribed)?
If your not already familiar with the drug here is some info from the FDA...

Ok. Our literature says it's o.k. to take medication if taken as prescribed, by a doctor, Right?
Here's the I.P. --> "In times of illness" - Take a look...

So why do self righteous, self proclaimed experts on medication make such a fuss about this topic?
First of all just because you have some clean time doesn't mean that you have the right to give medical advice to anyone. Doesn't our literature say we should get medical advice from medical professionals?...I thought so.
It's extremely dangerous and not to mention irresponsible to throw comments around to people when you have no clue what you're talking about...Shame on you!
If someone is taking a medication as prescribed they have, no doubt, every right to celebrate clean time.
Only one person truly knows if they are abusing the drug. That's the person who's taking it... Nobody has the right to say they can't celebrate clean time...Shame,shame,shame.
Suboxone has helped many addicts get off the streets and become functioning members of society.
I've seen many fellow addicts debate this subject fiercely. It is a hot topic. But to me it is pretty black and white...
You know in your heart why you're taking medication and if you truly need to. My job is not to criticize anyone. We don't shoot our wounded. We share our experience strength and hope.
Those with know experience with suboxone or anyone without PhD. after there name should keep there opinions to themselves.
I wouldn't tell someone with kids how to raise children. No matter what theory I have in my head.
Do you think it's okay to celebrate clean time while taking suboxone?
Why?
